ONEIROMANCY

Dream interpretation is based on the belief that the symbols, details, and senses that occur in dreams can be used to learn about life and predict the future. It is believed that this practice dates back to the ancient Egyptians.

The best way to start practicing Oneiromancy is to keep a dream journal; dreams often escape our minds as soon as we start focusing on the day, so by writing down the details of a dream when you wake up, you are recording information that may be useful in this process. As you jot down these details, be sure to include people, places, and feelings.

Over time, you may see that patterns start to emerge; these are particularly useful for interpreting meaning. Look for recurring themes and details; these likely represent something more in your life.

You can use a dream dictionary, such as this one, to try to interpret the symbols in your dreams. However, they may be unique to you, so also consider what these symbols represent in your own life.

ABOUT PROFESSOR Isabella

A Ravenclaw Alumna, Isabella has been a member of myHogwarts since Year 48. Graduating in Year 57, she served as a Prefect, a Quidditch Captain and a Head Student during her student years. As an Alumni, you can find her gazing at crystal balls or looking at tarot cards to see if something major or minor is about to happen. However, given that her true nature lies with the Department of Mysteries, where she works as an Unspeakable, no one shall ever know what she sees. Apart from the aforementioned positions, Isabella also works as a Mugwump, a Book Duster in the Hogwarts Library, a Co-Curator in the Godric's Hollow Museum, a Duelling Referee, a Quidditch Assistant, a DMLE Officer and a Quibbler Reporter.
