COLOURS AND AURAS

All living things emit an aura, or an energy field. The color of one’s aura can reveal information about their thoughts and feelings. Auras do change over time and are very complex; reading auras takes both talent and patience, and not everybody is able to perform this skill.

The brightness of one’s aura is generally associated with positivity; a bright aura indicates optimism while a darker one suggests negativity. Each color can represent several different characteristics; some common ones are listed:

  • Red – energy, love, passion, strength, anger

  • Orange – self-control, health, courage, wealth, youth

  • Yellow – optimism, happiness, warmth, attention, childishness

  • Green – peace, naturalness, jealousy, envy, soothingness

  • Blue – spirituality, intelligence, creativity, sensitivity, moodiness

  • Purple – royalty, arrogance, sadness, intuition, mystery

  • Pink – sincerity, sensitivity, caringness, emotion, sympathy

  • Grey – sadness, exhaustion, skepticism, confusion, gloom

  • Brown – greediness, opinionatedness, self-involved, restlessness, pettiness

  • Black – richness, power, strength, elegance, evil

  • White – balance, purity, innocence, goodness, freshness

In order to read someone’s aura, sit them in front of a plain white background. Much like when you’re scrying, you’ll need to relax your mind, concentrate on one part of their body (often a spot on their face/forehead), and relax your eyes, allowing them to shift out of focus. It’s imperative that you continue to focus on the same spot; as you continue to gaze, their aura should appear around them.

ABOUT PROFESSOR Isabella

A Ravenclaw Alumna, Isabella has been a member of myHogwarts since Year 48. Graduating in Year 57, she served as a Prefect, a Quidditch Captain and a Head Student during her student years. As an Alumni, you can find her gazing at crystal balls or looking at tarot cards to see if something major or minor is about to happen. However, given that her true nature lies with the Department of Mysteries, where she works as an Unspeakable, no one shall ever know what she sees. Apart from the aforementioned positions, Isabella also works as a Mugwump, a Book Duster in the Hogwarts Library, a Co-Curator in the Godric's Hollow Museum, a Duelling Referee, a Quidditch Assistant, a DMLE Officer and a Quibbler Reporter.
